But we never had Exit 0 when I was young, so I can't identify with it.

Hi Viky & missintexas, great to see you on here....and I'm from Iowa....it is close to Minnesota where I live and my significant other is a Minnesotan by birth!  But almost all my favorite musicians hail from Texas.....I am hoping to go to the ACL music festival some day soon but want to see Steve Earle on the lineup...doesn't look like it will be this year....

byrish > heh, it was especially meant for missintexas and her "old lady with a crush is always a lovely thing to behold.." Big Smile

She lives in Minneapolis (unless I have the crush too ;-) ).

Thanks for your question. I'm now in Prague, where I study, otherwise live 100kms eastwards.in Pardubice (I can't find any intelligent photogallery on the internet Sad ). And I discovered Steve just by browsing he internet, it was spring 2005. There are quite a lot of country bands in Czech republic, but nothing like Steve.

viky, you know i have a special place in my heart for you...you help me stay on the road...

i normally feel like 17, too, unless my chronic pain, IBS, migraines, depression, anxiety and sleep apnea is acting up..ha!

music helps keep me young and happy, most of the time, and sober, all of the time.....

hey indy, i was born and raised in TX, 20 miles south of Austin, when it was still an incredible place to live...and yes, i grew up on good Texas music, too, Waylon and Jerry Jeff Walker and Ray Wiley Hubbard, Z.Z. Top, Gary P. Nunn, some of who i am sure no one has heard about....that was back when you could see these guys in small, outdoor festivals and venues and it was just the best time in the world...one of the happiest times of my life....

i would love to see Steve at ACLU, too, heck, i just want to see him anywhere again!

oh, our oldest boy is a fresh. at Iowa State, i like Iowa, the folks are a lot more friendly than those here with "Minnesota (Ice) Nice."

To all you punk  Kids,  I've been listening to music longer than you have been alive.  Saturday night in my house was listening to The Grand Old Opry on the Zenith.  I'm alost 62, proud of if and even more proud of the fact that my musical tastes get better (in my opinion) as I get older.  Steve is one of  my ALL TIME favorites.  If music doesn't say someting it isn't worth the time.

    Hey Viky,

Strangely enough all of my favorite musicians (except Todd Snider) seem to spend more time on your side of the Atlantic.  They also appear to be better known there then here.  Could it be that Europe is (as is so often the case...) way ahead of us over here?  Maybe (lol) Europeans are just smarter.  Ja, das wird's wohl sein.  I heard that Prague is a beautiful old city but no longer a cheap place to visit.  Planning on going (home) next year - can't wait!!!

    Hi Missin,

I know just how you feel!  Went to see "Menopause - the Musical last week.  It was really funny but, unfortunately, all too true.  Nevertheless, I really do believe that 50 is the NEW 40 (maybe even 37) 60 the NEW 45, etc.  It's got to be true, 'cause my grandmother certainly wouldn't have traveled all over the place to attend a Steve Earle;Todd Snider;Billy Joe Shaver;John Prine and/or Bob Seger concert.  Or, ANY concert for that matter.  That woman missed out on a lot of fun!
