    C'ville concert

Saw Steve last Tuesday in C'ville VA at The Paramount. Seats probably 400-500 and it was sold out. This is my sixth time seeing Steve and he is great at every concert. This one was especially good as it was solo and his words were more dominant than with the whole band. I have been to this venue before and never seen the crowd so up for an artist. Great applause and appreciation for both Ms. Moorer and Steve.

Took him some time to talk to the crowd (which is unusual for Steve) but he did after 6-7 songs. Since he has so many great songs, it is always interesting to see/hear his set list. Actually like the "DJ" sound which was used on 5-6 songs.

Ms. Moorer opened and also joined Steve for 3-4 songs. I was hoping she would be backup on "Goodbye" but Steve did solo. "Cooperhead Road" was done without a mandolin and a "regular" guitar was used. "Copperhead Road" has special meaning as I saw Steve do this song one of the first times.

    Re: C'ville concert

My husband and I drove the 160 miles to see Steve in Charlottesville last week.  We really enjoyed the show and thought it was well worth the trip.  It was our first time seeing him live in concert, he doesn't seem to come this way very often.  Thought we might have to take a trip overseasTravel just to catch his act......We really like the Paramount, had been there once before to see Todd Snider (who was opening for Yonder Mountain String Band).  Going up to Annapolis, MD to catch Todd next week-end, he's my favorite right after Steve!  My husband likes them both, but his favorite is the old country stand-by, Billy Joe Shavers.

'Course we also like Bob Seger, Billy Joel; The Beatles; Joan Baez; Rod Stewart; The Dixie Chicks; John Prine and many, many more..............................

We don't like:  Brooks and Dunn, Super AngryToby Keith;Ick! The "Get'er DoneAngry" guy; most anybody wearing fancy cowboy hats and big belt buckles;Angry Rush Limbaugh;Devil Shawn Hannity,Zip it! and many, many more...........

You are absolutely right!  Shame on me for putting that "S" on "The Last Cowboy Poet's" name.  Considering all of his cd's that are stacked in my house I should have known better.  The name is BILLY JOE SHAVER!!!    Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
