    Jason and the Scorchers

Just been to see them in Sheffield tonight.  I was blown away.  Best band I've seen, and I've seen a few!!

Jason told a cool story of him and Steve Earle writing A Bible and a Gun together sometime in 1988, which culminated in Steve crashing his motorbike in the drive of Jason's house.

    Re: Jason and the Scorchers

That takes me back. I saw them in '84 when I was 15. They opened for Status Quo at the Milton Keynes Bowl, and were subjected to most severe barrage of bottles I think I've ever seen - Quo fans aren't generally known for they're discerning taste in music. I thought they were alright. I remember they put up a valiant defiance and lasted 20 minutes. The end came with Jason Ringenberg's suicidal comment: "If you were American, you'd be able to hit us". I've often wondered what happened to them.

One of my all-time favorite bands. I've been into them since the early 80s, but never got to see them live.

    I envy you Smile

I do have a copy of "Still Standing" on CD, the orignal release, not the reissue.

Wow, I'm touched that anyone would remember me Embarrassed

I've been making do, as always. I just found out yesterday that SE is playing Boulder in July, and it is a good venue. As my B-day is in August, I'm hoping for an early gift Party!!!

    How've you been, Iris?

hey tung, i am glad you are back, too!!  this is a great forum, all the beautiful people are here...now....

so glad you get to see Steve...he's coming back to MN on July 19 and i am going up north with a friend for the show!!  no husband, no kids....my friend is a huge music fan and open to any kind of sounds, but she said she really wanted to go with me to see how crazy i act..i told her, "get ready, i get really loud, and i never stay in my seat....."

so, i'm saving my milk money...

Tung!  Of course we remember you!  Not to put you in the spotlight, but you always have very thoughtful and articulate things to add to a conversation!  :)
