    Brown and Root

After just hearing "Brown and Root" on thed new Deluxe Copperhead Road CD, it has answered a question for me that I've wanted to know for 20 years!  I have a live performance of Steve and The Dukes on VHS for the last 20 years from 1987 in Switzerland at some Country festival and he ends by playing this tune bringing Harry Stinson up to play guitar from his drums. I have always wondered what the song is called!

Maybe I can get it up on YouTube at some point...

    Re: Brown and Root

hello my friend....don't you love the new Copperhead Road????  i've had it playing non-stop since i got it....it breaks my heart to hear Steve's voice sound so rough and to know what kind of pain he must have been in at that point...but, it's good, too, to know that his spirit kept him going even when times were really bad...

ah, yes, Brown and Root....Unlease the Energy!!!!!  ha!!  check out this site....www.halliburton.com for further information!!!

    take care...

I hate to admit it, but I actually prefer Steve's rougher voice. I know the reasons are not good as to why he has the rough voice, but i can't help but prefer it.

    rich sweetie...

i am starting to like it more....you know, i can't go for the "Aviator" sound, but the Cooperhead Road deluxe is really starting to become a favorite with me...i guess, being more or less in the same boat as Steve, it just makes me sad to know he went through such hell...it ain't an easy thing to endure..

hope you are well on this Mother's Day and you got your lovebug something real purty!!

Hey, Rich is sweetie too? HmmBig Smile

That's no secret that the Coppehear Road-The Hard Way-Shut Up.. period is my most favourite in Steve's music. But I'm not selfish and I'd rather if it were all left-wing propaganda with healthy Steve.

Rich > YouTube!  YouTube!  Wink And don't forget to check my PM

I'd rather legalize my Chris Knight first before thinking of CR deluxe  :-x
