    Live from Austin TX 2

Is there the tracklist available? Or even some samples?

The recording seems to be as old as the Transcendental Blues DVD so I hope the tracklist won't be same. The TB live concert is not much energic so hope this will be better ;-)

I have the same reservations as you, Viky. I will say this on the Tb tour. He came to my town (Pittsburgh, PA.) twice during that tour. It was my first and second Steve Earle shows and they both were much more energetic than the TB DVD. Hope for the same from the Austin  discs.

    Hi Viky,

The recording is from November 2000. We don't have any audio samples but here's a tracklisting for the CD

    3. Another Town
    4. Taneytown
    5. Hard-Core Troubadour
    6. Someday
    7. Telephone Road
    1. The Devil’s Right Hand
    2. More Than I Can Do
    3. I Can Wait
    4. Goodbye
    5. Steve’s Last Ramble
    6. Copperhead Road
    7. The Unrepentant
    8. Christmas In Washington

Stick out tongue  ha ha.... I don't care what's on it. I know it will be worth it.  I just want one of those autographed dvds they are giving away. I ordered mine yesterday.

Autographed copy is a great challenge. But I have no experience with ordering CDs from the USA and it surely wouldn't be exactly cheap.

Looking forward to seeing this one. I liked the TB Live DVD, but the sound wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be, which I'm sure won't be a problem with this release. The Austin City Limits DVD's are all top-notch, so I'm sure this one will be the same.

Has there been some sort of a delay with this release? I ordered it from a popular online retailer and everything was right on schedule, then last week I got an e-mail saying the delivery had been delayed until between May 14th and the 20th. I also noticed that it's no longer listed in the store on this site. Any leads?

I actually got the DVD in the mail this morning, and it's really quite good. The Dukes are in top form and The Unrepentant, in particular, is downright nasty! A great show through and through and a definite improvement over the TB Live DVD.

What happened to Galway Girl? It was on the original ACL broadcast from that show. Fortunately I have the tune in a dvd I downloaded recently, but it should be in the official dvd as well, one of my favorite songs. I don't know if Dan Gillis is still Steve's manager who played also in that song.

Re: Live from Austin TX 2

I must confess I coudn't resist and downloaded the CD. And I must say the sound of the band is really very poor and Steve's singing too sometimes (not to mention vocals). At least in comparison to other Steve's live recordings, especially with other Dukes. Roscoe is probably a little innovative but still, there are songs we know practically by heart, just played and sang much worse than we know them. No

I will probably buy the DVD one day, but it's somewhere at the bottom of my "to buy" list. Indifferent

I actually just got Austin TX 2000 last week. I've watched it four times, and I love it. Not to say it's perfect, but it's as close as we've gotten thus far. Steve sluffs off some of the vocals, and Eric's mic is a bit too hot sometimes. But overall, the band as a whole played great that night, and the setlist is heaven. Could have been longer, but it's a darn fine addition to my collection...now if only Steve hadn't thrown on a Jimmy Buffet shirt I'd be even more psyched about it.

Well said. I got the DVD in late May and have basically watched it at least once a week since then. The show sounds amazing on a big system, the set-list is a dream and The Dukes are hot. The killer version of "The Unrepentant" alone almost makes it worth the price...
