    love these....

it's hard for me to decide songs i don't like, rather than the ones i do like...

but, esp. i like "The Other Kind," "Fort Worth Blues," "Galway Girl" "Steve's Last Ramble" and i love his cover of "Dead Flowers..."

his music sustains me through a lot these days....

    Re: love these....

The Mercenary Song. Goodbye. Pilgrim. Carrie Brown. Transcendental Blues. Guitar Town. The Rain Came Down. Willin'. Creepy Jackolope Eye. The Other Kind. Billy Austin.

Trust me, I could go on. And on and on.

It would be far shorter to list the songs I don't like - there ain't many.

The way I usually think of it is, whatever Steve Earle song I'm listening to at the time is the best one!

    Re: love these....

There are so many of them. Funny most of your choices wouldn't be on that list.

Well tops would be: More Than I Can Do, Hard-core Troubadour, The Other Kind, Waitin' on You, Some Dreams, Guitar Town, Here I Am, Somewhere Out There, I Can Wait, When I Fall, Down Here Below

and many others, a lot of MCA stuff and rockin pieces from El Corazón i.a.

    Re: love these....

Don't have a favorite really as it depends on what state of mind I am in, Steve's got something for most every occasion....but The Other Kind is really close to my heart a lot of days, Galway Girl, The Rain Came Down (cuz I am a former farm girl from Iowa), any duet that he ever did, but boy the list could go on and on.  And I always somehow feel really empowered by his music.  It is essential to me, like breathing air, and eating chocolate.  Some days I get out of my car to walk into my office and I can't do it unless I've had my morning music fix to give me strength.  Maybe it's a religion of sorts...okay, that's it...gotta sign off and get ready for another day. Re: love these....

I love all of Steve's songs. I have not heard one song that I do not like, but these would be my faves...

Down the Road, Fearless Heart, Back to the Wall, The Devil's Right Hand, You Belong to Me, Esmeralda's Hollywood, This Highway's Mine, Texas Eagle, Harlan Man, Mystery Train Part II, Mercenary Song, You're Still Standing There, Feel Alright, Taneytown, Telephone Road, N.Y.C. Here I Am, I Can Wait, The Galway Girl, Halo 'Round the Moon, All My Life, BREED, Creepy Jackalope Eye, Amerika v. 6.0, The Gringo's Tale, The Seeker, Tennessee Blues, Down Here Below, Jericho Road.

Whew! I'm sure I left something off the list.... Hmm indygochild.... like you, I absolutely must listen to at least a few steve songs before I go to work.... it's called living through "the gospel of Earle".... and it's a good feeling and a great way to start my day!

    Re: love these....

I go in cycles with my favorite Earle tunes and then sometimes I’ll go back and listen to a song I might have skipped over previously and fall in love with it.

I guess my current favorites are Texas Eagle, Down The Road, Billy Austin, Tom Aames Prayer, The Mountain, Little Rock and Roller (Don’t Laugh)
