I've spotted a few mentions of Springsteen around the forum so I figured he should have his own thread. I've only really gotten into Bruce over the last year or so but I'm really loving everything I've heard with 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town' being my favourite album. Also, Mrs Tuco bought us tickets for the Old Trafford (home of the world's greatest football team) show on May 28th, so I get to go and see the E Street Band in a few weeks time! So, come on, who else loves The Boss?

I do. Seen him twice. Once with The E. Street Band, and once at a solo acoustic gig. My favourite album has to be Nebraska, Darkness On The Edge Of Town comes second. I also really enjoyed The Ghost Of Tom Joad. Not too keen on Tunnel Of Love or Born In The U.S.A. I am positive the gig will be awesome, Springsteen always deliver!

AussieDave:"Nebraska" was a great record... I quite likes the double release he did, one was called "Lucky Town" (I think) had some great tunes. The song "Lucky Town" is part of my bands set, as is "The River" as an acoustic interlude. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Danny Federici, his keys player; last week, I think.
Steve's got a cover of Nebraska on the new Deluxe Edition of Copperhead Road.

not me. having to endure twenty four hours of 'born to run' blasted through every open dormitory room window when it was new and then reading in 'time' that he was dylan's second coming killed springsteen for me. i've never seen him and i don't wish to. his only record that i own is the seeger sessions. b

tuco:It was the BBCs broadcast of the Sessions band in London that got me interested in Springsteen's music. Obviously I was familiar with a lot of his stuff before that and I'd bought the single of 'Brilliant Disguise' when that came out (I'd have been 12/13 then). The first cd I bought was 'Human Touch' which isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but good enough to delve further. I bought 'Lucky Town' last week which isn't a classic but definitely underrated - 'Souls of the Departed' is a cracking song.
I remember "Human Touch" and "Lucky Town" being released on the same day back in 1992 and buying them both that day. I much prefer Lucky Town and Tuco, i agree. Soul's of the Departed is my favourite song on this album!

I'm a huge Bruce fan, have all his albums. Nebraska, would be one of my favourites also, recently got a beautiful vinyl live box set recently, it's incredible, I especially love the intro to the river when he's talking about his dad and the Vietnam war, goose pimples!!!I've never seen him live but by all accounts this E street tour was the best yet. Was pissed off I couldn't make the shows, hopefully get to see him again.
