    a Dallas rave

I've been a fan for a long time, but not rabid, so I haven't seen Steve since he was at the Newport Folk Festival in 2004. With a respectful nod to fans who don't want Steve to change too much, I loved tonight's Lakewood Theatre show in Dallas way more than I had expected precisely because it's sooooo good to hear new songs! And they're terrific! I didn't even know the new CD was out but after hearing one great song after another I bought it at the show. It's the Steve I love but he's fully here today and moving forward. Thanks, Steve, it was really a great evening of music, and many, many more days of fresh CD play to come!

I agree, I love his older stuff but love the new CD as well. Steve has music for me no matter what mood I'm in. While I'd love to see him tour w/the Dukes (having never had the chance to see them live), I was thrilled to see him at the Minneapolis show and with nearly front row seats (about 6 feet from edge of the stage), it was a dream come true for me. Steve has always demonstrated creativity and is unafraid to change and try new ideas out. I'd not bother to listen if he was just another Nashvillian packaged deal. Thank God he's not anything but himself, the real deal.
