    LIVE @ Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

What a weird gig.  A BIG ol' Mess.  WSS songs completely outta synch with Earle -ier material.  F u c K the beatbox and bring backs the Dooks! Steve if you're reading this... set the missus free and quit slavering. For the sake of your 'art'. I know it must be hard ;-) but You know it ain't right! and while I'm on one...New York is nothing but a whore, but hey that's not exactly news!

On the up side all is not yet lost. Steve you're still up there alongside the best. But Brooce got a grammy for his trip hop side swipe.  Not his finest moment either. Living In A City Of Immigrants... er yeah.. AND???.  Be warned. If you go too far up there you may just disappear. Talk show hosts are ten a penny.  Can't wait to hear the next album!

    LOL.

Excellent review! Posted in the correct section (concert & interviews) for once. So great to see a proper setlist and all. Plus, you really nailed it as to why the songs with the DJ stick out so much from Steve's earlier material. And as if that wasn't enough, we got to share your thoughts on the great city of New York, absolutely stunning!

    Thank you so much!

My review from the NewWest forum:

    Steve played:

    Steve's Last Ramble
    Devil's Right Hand
    My Old Friend The Blues
    Someday
    Now She's Gone
    Goodbye
    Tom Ames Prayer
    South Nashville Blues
    Billy Austin
    Tennessee Blues (with dj)
    Jericho Road
    Oxycontin Blues (dj)
    CCKMP (dj)
    Transcendental Blues (dj)
    Sparkle And Shine
Days Aren't Long Enough (with Alison)
Down Here Below (dj and Alison)
City Of Immigrants (dj and Alison)
    Red Is The Color (dj)
    Galway Girl (on mandolin)
Steve's Hammer (dj and crowd singalong)
Way Down In The Hole (dj)

    Encore:
    Rich Man's War
    Little Rock n' Roller
    Copperhead Road

Fourth time I've seen Steve and one of the best. The Bridgewater Hall is a great venue (possibly the best acoustically in Manchester) and also the first place I saw Steve.
The crowd and Steve were a little subdued at first but things picked up as the show went on and by the end everybody was really into it.
I quite enjoyed the dj but he worked better in some places (CCKMP/Transcendental Blues in particular) than others.
Special mention to Alison Moorer too. This is the third time I've seen her and really, the first time I've been impressed.

I missed Satellite Radio off the set list, but I think I got everything else.

Thanks Tuco, and to you, I really mean it. Good luck in the final btw, I'd much rather see your boys winning than Chelsea.

Yeah, you say that now Barcelona have gone out! Big Smile Actually, I'm less confident about beating Chelsea than I would be about whupping the Scousers. Still, we'll see 'em in Moscow...I'm predicting this one might go to extra-time.

To be honest, I have nothing against Man U. I just like Barcelona better is all, but I really don't like Chelsea for some reason (sorry all you CFC fans out there, nothing personal). I guess I know a little too much about the Headhunters.
