Iowa City concert May 3, 2008

Anyone there? How about a review?  I wanted to go, but it didn't work out.  My best friend was supposed to go, but it didn't work out.

The show was at the Englert, a former movie house.  It was many years ago I worked in Iowa City and have fond memories of the town ...would like to know how the show was, how was the crowd, what is the demo of the people seeing this show in Iowa City?  Thanks

I was there in the front row all the way to the left facing the stage.  It was an unbelieveable show!!!  I have wanted to see Steve for over 20 years and it was well worth the wait.  He played for nearly 2 hours with a great mix of the old stuff and the new.  My fiancee was not a huge Steve Earle fan going in but she was when we left.  He is so engaging onstage she couldent help but have a great time.  My personal favorite part of the show was when he sang "Steve's Hammer"  The audience had to sing with him and was told "If you don't sing people will think you are republican, and if you are republican people will know you were here."

A dream I've had since I was 8 years old was fulfilled saturday night, I'll never forget the show.

That sounds great!  I am so happy for you.  Love the Steve's Hammer comment!
